NEWSLETTER ISSUE 6
As 2015 draws to a close, we’d like to say a heartfelt thanks to you, our wonderful clients, both present and future. It’s been a huge year for the Happy Body At Work family and we’ve got plenty of amazing achievements to celebrate, including winning the Mental Health Matters award for best Mental Health Promotion & Wellbeing program.
Happy Clients BIG and small
This year, the program has rolled out to some amazing and diverse companies and we’ve overcome some interesting challenges along the way. From the logistical hurdles of rolling out to 400 employees in 28 locations for CSIRO, to the challenge of a 10-country pilot with leading global legal firm Ashurst, to integrating the HBAW program into a specially designed PwC app, it’s been an incredible journey.
We’ve rolled out to companies, BIG and small, across most industry sectors. HBAW has been embraced by schools, hospitals, universities, councils, telcos, banks, and many more.

“Best 4 hours you will spend at work this year”
– Sydney forum delegate
Our HR/wellbeing forums have been hugely successful, with two booked out events in Sydney and one in Brisbane this year.
Our latest Sydney forum – Creating Thriving Workplaces - was held at the ABC during Mental Health Month. 160 delegates from a diverse mix of public and private sector companies joined us for an inspiring morning.
Our MC, ABC Radio 702 personality, James Valentine, opened the forum with a hilarious ‘conference yoga’ routine.
John McCrindle - Chairperson of Caltex’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and widely regarded as a ‘champion for women’ delivered the keynote. John was the driving force behind transforming Caltex’s male dominated culture to one that is more accepting, inclusive, and flexible. He shared his personal insights and practical strategies as to how it could be achieved in any organisation.
Matthew Johnstone, Creative Director of the Black Dog Institute, and one of our favourite guest speakers, gave an inspiring talk on building resilience, both personally and in the workplace, and shared learning gained from his many and varied near death experiences!
The creator of the Happy Body At Work program - feel good physio - Anna-Louise - spoke about the ROI of wellbeing programs, and in true Happy Body spirit, had the audience walking the talk by sitting less, moving more, and ‘shoining their lights’.
The forum was followed by an interactive Q&A workshop, where our panel of industry experts shared their experiences and how they’ve overcome barriers to successfully implement wellbeing programs within their workplaces.
